InSciDa student workshop: Statistics and Data Science in Industry, 18-23 Jan 2016


The Department of Statistical Sciences at the University of Cape Town and the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences are co-hosting a student workshop on "Statistics and Data Science in Industry". The event takes place at the AIMS campus in Muizenberg, Cape Town from 18-23 January 2016. 

The event is aimed at postgraduate and advanced undergraduate students in statistics, computer science, mathematics, and related subjects. Successful applicants from any South African university will be fully funded to travel to and attend the workshop. Up to 25 places are available.
 

The workshop is a 6-day hands-on, collaborative event in which groups of students solve real-world problems submitted by industry partners, under the guidance of leading experts in the field. More information about the event, industry problems, and application details are on the workshop website:
